Healthy Recipe: How To Make Meatless Cheeseburgers

 This recipe is great for people trying to cut down on fatty ground beef in their meals, yet still like the taste of a good burger. The cottage cheese and the oatmeal give it the familiar texture of a burger, and also make it very filling. The onion dip mix gives it the flavor. I also like to add a little liquid smoke to it to give it the smoky flavor of a grilled burger. Credits for this recipe go to Evelyn Tribole, from her book Healthy Homestyle Cooking.
Per serving:

Calories: 208

calories from fat: 18%

Ingredients:
- 2 egg whites, lightly beaten

- 1 cup fat free cottage cheese

- 1 envelope instant onion-mushroom soup/dip mix

- 1 cup rolled oats
Directions:
In a medium bowl, stir together the egg whites, cottage cheese, and soup mix until well combined ( I aso add in about a tsp. of liquid smoke). Then stir in the oats. Using about 1/3 cup of mixture for each burger, shape the mixture into six 1/2" thick patties. Spray an unheated griddle or large skillet with no-stick spray. Heat the griddle or skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook about 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Serve on a bun with any toppings you desire. Makes 6 burgers.

About AmBetterToday:
I began this YouTube channel to document my weight loss journey and to have the accountability I needed to keep going. I started this process in April 7 2010 and it's the best thing I could have done for myself. My highest weight was 180 lbs and my goal weight is 130 lbs. My current weight is 160 lbs.

About TheFitnessGirl9:
I've always struggled with my weight, but I've been in love with health and fitness for the past 10 years. I enjoy eating healthy, organic foods and recently felt the need to take it to the next level. I did raw food 30 day challenge March 2010 and have been eating raw ever since. I love it!!

My most recent challenge I face is that I just gave birth to twins girls in July 2009. I gained about 50 lbs with the pregnancy and have struggled to get the weight off. I have managed to lose 20 lbs by just eating right and a trying to fit in a little exercise when I can. But its hard when I am with my girls all day and have little energy left over for myself.

I'm on a quest to lose these last 30 lbs and get back to my old self by July 2010. I am also looking to eat more consciously. I will be sharing my journey here.

About P90X Progress Pay It Forward Program.
This is where people who are doing P90x come together and motivate each other to complete the program. What I'm wanting to do is post these peoples video progress updates on my blog and find others with a blog to do the same. The whole purpose of this is to pay it forward to others to, get more people to follow your progress, in return bringing everyone more support, motivation and more reasons to complete their P90x challenge.

After all P90x is a very challenging fitness program and I've seen a lot of people drop out of the race. You can never have enough support thats for sure.

P90x Workout Progress: End of Week 3

Right on I got through week 3 of P90X! The exercises seem to be getting a lot easier, and my strength and cardio is improving a lot. When I timed myself April 1st in running, I ran 2 miles in 26 mins, now I’m running 2 miles in 24 min. Still not where I want it to be, when I was 17 my time for 2 miles was 15:30, this is what Im shooting for now. I incereased my working weight by 5 lbs each week to further challenge my muscles. Yoga is getting eaiser each time, I can actually get into some of the positions now.

I started to wear down the last 2 days and am so glad that this week is over. I’m taking the day off (Wed.) to get some rest, I feel pretty much drained. Thursday is the begining of week 4 which is recovery week. Heres what days I’ll be working out and what I’ll be doing:


Thursday: Yoga     Friday: Core Synergistics     Saturday: Kenpo

Sunday: X Stretch     Monday: Core Synergistics     Tuesday: Yoga.

In recovery week you don't do any weightlifting , this will allow your muscle to rest and grow, its part of the muscle confusion process. There's 3 Phases in P90x ,3 weeks of intense workouts mixed with weightlifting and cardio, and 1 week of recovery which concentrates more on your core. At the end of week 4 I will be taking pics and measurements to see where I’m at. I'll be sure to post them.
